Samaje Perine finished with 16 touches, 78 total yards, and a score as Chase Brown's backfield running mate. I'm not willing to declare Perine as a standalone flex play moving forward, as that was the first game of the season where Perine had more than eight touches.

Perine's one big game is noise; Brown remains the clear workhorse back.

Samaje Perine finished with 16 touches, 78 total yards, and a score in his last game before the bye, but this was only the first game of the season where he had more than eight touches. In Week 5, Perine played 50.8% of the snaps with 45.2% of the rushing volume but only a 33.3% route share. He split red zone work with Brown (four rushing attempts each) but Brown dwarfed him in snap rate inside the 20-yard line (63.2% vs. Perine's lower rate). The source views this as noise rather than signal of Brown's role being in serious jeopardy. Baltimore's run defense is formidable, making Perine a poor flex play this week.
