Pats Pulpit on Caleb Williams

Williams' scrambling and play extension create multi-level defensive challenge.

Caleb Williams is the prototypical modern-era QB who can make every throw in the book and simultaneously put pressure on teams as a scrambler or play-extender. Those latter parts of his game—extending plays and keeping plays alive—are particularly challenging to defend and force defenders to stay on their assignments longer than they typically would have to, requiring Patriots to defend both the first and second play.
