STACKED’s take
Douglas set for big role vs. Bears with Doubs out and Brown struggling.
Douglas is positioned for a strong Week 7 performance against the Bears on Thursday Night Football. He leads the Patriots in targets (30) and receptions (20) with 233 receiving yards and 3 touchdowns through six weeks. His Week 6 outing against the Jets—seven catches for 86 yards and a touchdown—was his best of the season. With Romeo Doubs out on injured reserve for at least four games and A.J. Brown struggling with drops (3 catches on 10 targets for 27 yards in Week 6), Douglas is positioned as the primary receiving option. His 82.7% slot percentage is the highest of his career, and Bears cornerback Malik Muhammad—the Chicago defender with the most snaps in slot coverage—has graded as one of the team's worst players in coverage with 15 catches allowed for 249 yards, per PFF.
