Loveland is boom-bust TE1 with upside in explosive Bears offense; faces stingy Patriots.
Loveland has 2.5 games with Caleb Williams, and the half game was a rainy game against the Vikings. He's been the TE4 and TE65 in them, on TE5 and TE27 usage, respectively. Last week's tape showed plenty of first-read targets, and many of them were in the red zone in multi-TE sets. Loveland looked the part and really could've had a second TD if he didn't get lost in the sauce. We can't completely throw out Weeks 2-5 with backups, but there's no doubt that Week 6 and what happened to close out his rookie season are the most important data points moving forward. He's a boom-bust TE1 with as much upside as anyone in this explosive offense. New England has been stingy to tight ends, ranking 26th in half PPR points allowed per game to the position (7.8). Beyond Brock Bowers' TE2 finish in Week 5, the Patriots held Dalton Kincaid to 1.2 half PPR points (TE52) in Week 4 and Mason Taylor to 5.3 points (TE25) in Week 6. That said, the Patriots have CB1 Christian Gonzalez to shut down some of these WRs, so it's possible Loveland has the best pass-game matchup this week. Chicago enters as 3-point home favorites with an implied team total of 26.75 points (second).
