The Philadelphia Eagles are waiving tight end E.J. Jenkins, according to a report from NFL insider Mike Garafolo. Jenkins was a surprise inclusion on the Eagles' roster back in late August when the team went from the offseason limit of 90 players down to the regular season limit of 53. To this point, Jenkins had served as a third or fourth tight end on game days. With zero targets in 67 offensive snaps played over six games, Jenkins contributed as a blocker in addition to helping out on special teams.

Eagles waive E.J. Jenkins after minimal offensive role; may return to practice squad.

The Philadelphia Eagles waived tight end E.J. Jenkins after he served as a third or fourth tight end on game days with zero targets in 67 offensive snaps over six games, contributing primarily as a blocker and on special teams. The waiver move may be related to the Eagles running out of practice squad elevations for Zach Ertz, with the team potentially planning to sign Ertz to the roster while bringing Jenkins back on the practice squad.
