Barkley returned to practice as a limited participant after missing the last couple of weeks with an ankle injury ahead of Monday night's game against Dallas. He is reportedly on track to play but stopped short of guaranteeing availability, stating: 'I would love to play Monday night. I would be doing myself a disservice to sit here and say Monday night I'm guaranteeing myself to play.' Barkley noted he attempted to return last week but reconsidered, saying 'you sit and you're like, maybe they were right,' and expressed confidence in the training staff while planning to test the injury throughout the week.
