Tight end Isaiah Likely emphasized his responsibility to make McCarthy comfortable in his first start, signaling confidence in McCarthy's arm talent and willingness to make plays even when covered. Likely stated: 'Letting him know that as long as the ball's in the air and in my vicinity, it's a great pass either way. It doesn't matter if somebody's on me or if I'm wide open. Just throw the ball, trust me, and I'm going to make the play for you.'
