Niners Nation on Jacob Cowing

Cowing has Week 7 opportunity but stock low after lost 2025 season.

Fourth-round pick in 2024 with dynamic skill set for Kyle Shanahan offense; lost entire 2025 season to preseason high-ankle sprain, curtailing his ascent; has only five career catches for 89 yards heading into Week 7; stock at low ebb due to questionable performance as return man, including muffed punt vs Seattle and ill-advised return from four-yard line vs Washington; faces golden opportunity in Week 7 vs Falcons with Evans out, but source notes he was put behind the 8-ball by lost 2025 season and has not caught up; will need to make most of this chance to have compelling case for involvement once Evans and Samuel return.
