Despite being mostly bad at the things teams generally need their quarterbacks to be good at, Watson and the offense have been good enough when it counted to pull off fourth-quarter game-winning drives in all four of Cleveland's wins this season. Watson's four game-winning drives in six games matches Mayfield's rookie pace, fueling extension talk.

Watson has orchestrated fourth-quarter game-winning drives in all four of Cleveland's wins through six games, the highest total for a Browns quarterback since Baker Mayfield's rookie season in 2018; despite being described as 'mostly bad at the things teams generally need their quarterbacks to be good at,' Watson and the offense have been clutch when it mattered, positioning the Browns atop the AFC North and opening speculation about a contract extension rather than the planned 2027 quarterback reset.
