McCarthy starts for Giants; Nagy says skill set similar to Dart; opens up playbook.

The quarterback makes his first start for the Giants in place of Jameis Winston, which will allow the Giants to open up the playbook with the hope of jump-starting their running game against the Texans' tough run defense (ranked third in the NFL). Offensive coordinator Matt Nagy noted that McCarthy's skill set 'is very similar to Jaxson Dart,' bringing back a decent percentage of the playbook that had to be shelved when Dart was injured, including more zone-read game, rollouts, and options where the QB's legs and athleticism can be an asset.
