McKee elevated to starter after Hurts injury; previously demoted behind Dalton.

McKee is now the Eagles' starter after Hurts' injury. He was originally a Day 3 pick in 2023 and showed promise in limited opportunities, making him Hurts' primary backup in 2025. However, he underperformed in Week 18 when starters rested, leading the Eagles to trade for Andy Dalton to compete for the QB2 job. Dalton won the competition and started Week 1, relegating McKee to emergency third-string. After Dalton threw an interception on his only pass attempt in Week 3, McKee reclaimed the backup role and is now starting.
