Yahoo Sports NFL on Jaxson Dart

Dart's Week 2 injury ended season, forcing Giants to pivot from franchise QB plan.

Jaxson Dart's season ended seven plays into Week 2, forcing the Giants to pivot to Jameis Winston and eventually J.J. McCarthy. Dart was positioned as the young franchise quarterback under John Harbaugh in Year 1, with the Giants' season-opening victory over the Cowboys suggesting they had pieces in place to win now with Dart leading the offense. His injury, packaged with the losses of defensive cornerstones Brian Burns and Tremaine Edmunds, created a death sentence scenario for the team's season.
