Yahoo Sports NFL on Mike Evans

Evans rested with nagging injury; his absence impacted Purdy's options.

Mike Evans was held out of the game against Atlanta due to not being 100% healthy. The source noted the 49ers made a strategic decision not to push Evans out there, avoiding potential aggravation of his nagging injury. The source also noted that Evans' absence meant Purdy was making contested throws that his pass catchers did not haul in—throws that have been taken for granted because Evans has caught them all year.
