Mitchell loses No. 2 receiver role to Cooper; played fewer snaps and routes.

Mitchell's role in the Jets' receiving corps has been diminished by Cooper Jr.'s emergence. Mitchell played 26 snaps and ran 18 routes in Week 7, trailing Cooper (38 snaps, 23 routes), and Cooper played ahead of Mitchell in two-receiver sets. Although Mitchell was returning from a finger injury that kept him out since Week 2, the source suggests Cooper has likely already overtaken him as the Jets' No. 2 receiver, indicating a reduced role going forward.
