From the article

Watkins ended up playing the most snaps of any SF WR and the latter capitalized to the tune of 3-6-56 in a game script that forced the offense to be pass heavy early. Watkins probably doesn't retain that volume with presumably everyone getting healthier off a Week 8 bye.

STACKED’s take

NeutralUsage

Watkins's 56 yards likely inflated by injuries; volume expected to decline post-bye.

Joe Bartel assumed Christian Kirk (calf) would step in with Mike Evans (Achilles) and Deebo Samuel (hamstring) out, but Kirk was used exclusively in the slot for just 20 offensive snaps; Brandin Cooks and Watkins played the most snaps of any 49ers WR, with Watkins capitalizing to 3-6-56 in a pass-heavy game script, though he probably won't retain that volume with everyone getting healthier off the Week 8 bye.
