St. Brown's leak route exploits coverage weakness in Lions' play-action scheme

Amon-Ra St. Brown's motion and leak route design are central to the Lions' play-action attack against elite defenses. In the film breakdown example, St. Brown's pre-snap motion serves as a clear zone indicator to the Packers' defense, and his leak route is specifically designed to attack the left-middle part of the field that All-Pro safety Xavier McKinney vacates when he aggressively runs toward the line of scrimmage post-snap. Goff immediately identified this coverage weakness and exploited it for a huge gain, demonstrating how St. Brown's route design and positioning work in concert with Goff's elite coverage recognition.
