Hogs Haven on Jayden Daniels

Daniels executes play-action reads well; near-TD throw shows scheme competency.

On the Commanders' Rider play-action concept against the Cowboys, Daniels reads the safety playing shallow and opening his body to McLaurin's route, immediately recognizing he has Burks on the go route and pulling the trigger. Daniels puts slightly too much on the pass and despite Burks making a full diving effort, the ball grazes his fingertips and falls incomplete. However, the execution issue is minor; if Daniels takes a yard off that throw, Burks has an uncontested 55-yard touchdown. The scheme was a good one from Blough and it was made even better by the set up, demonstrating Daniels' ability to read defenses and execute play-action concepts effectively.
