McCarthy was fantastic in his first start. He finished 20 of 28 for 252 yards, and never put the ball in harm's way. His ability to get the ball down the field with velocity, his ability to move around in the pocket, and simply the threat of using him in the designed run game changes the Giants' offense.

McCarthy's first start showcased arm talent and mobility that transforms Giants' offensive potential.

McCarthy was fantastic in his first start for the Giants, finishing 20 of 28 for 252 yards without turning the ball over. His ability to get the ball downfield with velocity, move around in the pocket, and threaten in the designed run game changes the Giants' offense. The Giants generated five pass plays of at least 20 yards and two of more than 40 yards in the game. Head coach John Harbaugh said starting him against the Texans was the 'obvious choice,' and McCarthy absolutely validated that decision.
