Cuevas emerges as dynasty sleeper after Hibner injury; creative usage and historical Ravens TE pattern suggest long-term

Fifth-round rookie tight end for Baltimore with a plausible path to playing time in dynasty leagues. Historically, when the Ravens draft two tight ends in the same draft, the second-selected has played more games and scored more fantasy points than the first; Cuevas was selected one round after Matt Hibner. Through Week 3, Cuevas saw limited 14% snap share, but after Hibner's hand injury in Week 5, Cuevas played a season-high 23 snaps (40% snap share) in Week 6 against Cleveland, was targeted five times, caught four for 44 yards and his first career touchdown. Offensive coordinator Declan Doyle deployed Cuevas creatively—lining him up as an eligible guard before a 29-yard reception and using him on a fourth-and-goal touchdown play—suggesting a longer-term productive role. At Alabama, Cuevas caught 53 receptions for 629 yards and five touchdowns over two seasons, playing just over half his snaps inline and frequently deployed across formations. Matt Waldman ranked Cuevas TE7 in the 2026 rookie class, 10 spots ahead of Hibner, and projected him as a team's TE2 who could contribute as a receiver in multi-TE sets. Baltimore has used two or more tight ends on more than half its offensive snaps this season. With Andrews (age 30) extended through 2027 and Smythe out for the season with an Achilles tear, Cuevas and Hibner could be the Ravens' top two tight ends by 2028, with Cuevas in a receiving role. Best viewed as a longer-term development project with the ceiling of the next Mark Andrews.
