The Phinsider on Malik Willis

Willis locked in as starter through second Jets game; early evaluation period ongoing.

The source indicates Willis will start at least through the second Jets game, with the team having no choice but to keep him for now. The evaluation period is still early at only 5 games, and the source compares Willis's development trajectory to historical QBs like Darnold, Mayfield, and Daniel Jones, who took longer to develop and received more starts as first-rounders in better situations. The source suggests waiting to see what Willis does in the next 12 games before making final roster decisions.
