Malik Washington has been forced into a #1 receiver role despite being only a passable #3. With Douglas and Achane out, the receiving corps is severely depleted, and Washington is being asked to carry a load he is not equipped for. His poor route-running has also contributed to Willis's interceptions, such as the second INT against Cincinnati where Washington ran a terrible route that brought the defender into the path of the ball.
