Jeanty does not look right. He's been managing a right ankle sprain...Among 24 NFL starting running backs with at least 80 rush attempts, no player has a lower yards-per-carry average than Jeanty...the lack of a running game has been a major factor in those losses...Jeanty has a 16.5 percent target share, third among all running backs, while Mendoza's entire four-man backfield in college had less than a 7 percent target share.
STACKED’s take
Jeanty's ankle injury, ineffective rushing, and potential QB change threaten target-dependent value.
Despite being RB12 in fantasy points per game, Jeanty does not look right; he has been managing a right ankle sprain suffered in training camp and reinjured it in Week 2, battling through pain each week. Among 24 NFL starting running backs with at least 80 rush attempts, Jeanty has the lowest yards-per-carry average, explosive run rate, rushing yards over expectation, and EPA per attempt—both tape and numbers show he is one of the least effective rushers in the NFL. The Raiders have lost four straight games with the running game being a major factor. Kubiak's offense thrives on the running game, and if the Raiders lose more games before Week 13 bye, rookie Fernando Mendoza could enter the lineup just in time for fantasy playoffs. Mendoza's college numbers suggest he will target the running back far less than Cousins (Mendoza's four-man backfield had less than 7 percent target share versus Jeanty's 16.5 percent). Additional concerns include backup Mike Washington Jr.'s growing role and the ninth-toughest fantasy schedule for Raiders running backs.
