STACKED’s take
Love's incorrect intentional grounding call preceded his interception.
Flagged for intentional grounding on the first play of the fourth quarter; the source grades this as Incorrect (Weight 2). Love was outside the tackle box and threw in the direction of tight end Tucker Kraft; the ball did not reach the line of scrimmage. Referee Alex Moore's pool-report explanation stated the pass 'just can't be in the direction' of Kraft; 'it has to actually reach where he is if it doesn't get to the line of scrimmage.' Rules the source Dean Blandino said on the broadcast, 'That is not grounding.' The penalty backed Green Bay up, and two plays later Love was intercepted by Brian Branch. The same standard had not been applied to a similar Goff throw earlier.
