Yahoo Sports NFL on Jordan Mason

Mason earned 12 carries in return game; path to RB1 workload if Jones misses time.

In his first game back from injury, Mason had 12 opportunities to eight for Aaron Jones Sr. before Jones suffered an MCL injury. Mason ran a route on 37% of Murray's dropbacks, giving him rushing and receiving utility. Minnesota has primarily leaned on its running game with Murray under center, with the exception of the red zone (+9.1% PROE). Mason has a path to an RB1 workload should Jones miss time. The Vikings are in the trade market for another rusher, but until something happens, Mason should be on target lists.
