Yahoo Sports NFL on Emanuel Wilson

Wilson's red-zone carries produced minimal gains; source criticizes repeated run calls.

Wilson was used in the red zone against Kansas City but the source criticizes the play-calling. On Seattle's first red-zone trip to the 9-yard line, Wilson gained three yards, followed by a shovel pass to Barner that lost a yard and nearly resulted in a fumble. Later in the third quarter, the source notes that offensive coordinator Fleury keeps calling runs with Wilson and other backs in the red zone despite poor results. The source suggests keeping plays simple until the offense can execute consistently, implying Wilson's usage in these situations has been ineffective.
