Waddle is barely startable after first-round trade; Chargers' defensive dominance limits offensive production.

Wide receiver is barely startable despite the Chargers trading a first-round pick to acquire him. Waddle's lack of production reflects the broader Chargers offensive dysfunction under Sean Payton, where the defense is so dominant that the offense only needs to score 12 points per game to win. This game script and play-calling philosophy (heavy reliance on short passes and line-of-scrimmage throws) have limited Waddle's downfield opportunities and fantasy production.
