Mahomes is projected to finish outside the top-20 QBs again in Week 8 against Denver. He has scored less than 20 fantasy points combined over his last two games (QB23 and QB25 finishes) and hasn't scored a touchdown since Week 4. In Week 1 against Denver, Mahomes completed just 15-of-27 for 184 yards with one legitimate touchdown. The Broncos deploy man coverage at high rates, and Mahomes currently ranks outside the top-25 in EPA/DB and success rate against man coverage. Kansas City's receiver room lacks pass-catchers who can consistently separate against man coverage. Mahomes' scramble rate is down three percent from last year, limiting his ability to create plays with his legs when facing heavy man coverage. Alternatives like Darnold, Kyler Murray, Jacoby Brissett, or Geno Smith are preferable if available.
