Mitchell called up from practice squad for Week 7; could see similar role in Week 8 if Barkley out.

Mitchell, 28, was called up from the Eagles' practice squad ahead of the Week 7 game against the Cowboys and recorded three carries for 11 yards. Originally signed by Philadelphia on June 2 before being released on Aug. 11, he rejoined the practice squad on Oct. 16. A former sixth-round pick by the 49ers in 2021 who posted 1,100 scrimmage yards as a rookie, Mitchell has struggled to stay healthy in ensuing seasons and bounced around the league. The Eagles could use a similar arrangement with Mitchell in Week 8 if Barkley remains unavailable.
