Ferguson had a late drop in Week 5 that turned into an interception sealing the loss to Tampa Bay; in Week 6 at Green Bay, he lost his starting job to Brevyn Spann-Ford, an undrafted 2024 signing who started and played more snaps, with Spann-Ford now seen as Prescott's red-zone target—the same short-yardage role that had been growing for Ferguson—meaning what was an unquestioned every-down role in one of the league's better offenses now looks shared despite Ferguson having four years left on his contract.
