Yahoo Sports NFL on J.J. McCarthy

From the article

McCarthy is the Giants' starting quarterback and has drawn attention for his personal rivalry with Ohio State, stemming from a 2019 recruiting commitment broken by coach Ryan Day. McCarthy went 3-0 against Ohio State while at Michigan and did not wear eye black in Week 7 against the Texans (led by former Buckeye C.J. Stroud) as a personal statement. McCarthy clarified he holds no grudge against Stroud specifically and will resume wearing eye black in Week 9 against the Eagles, noting the eye black omission is "strictly just for like C.J., for sure. Maybe Kyle McCord … unless Ryan Day comes up to the NFL."
