Daily Norseman on Jordan Mason

Mason's five-week thumb injury; free agent in 2027 with limited FA RB options.

Jordan Mason injured his thumb in Week 1 and missed Weeks 2, 3, 4, and 5. The source notes Mason is a free agent after the 2026 season and identifies him alongside Aaron Jones as a free agent option for 2027, but concludes 'there are no good backs as free agents next year either,' suggesting the Vikings will likely need to spend a first or second round pick to acquire a decent running back in the draft.
