I wouldn't sit there and hold my breath for Saquon, Jonathan Taylor, or any of those top-end items... The second part of it is, the Vikings don't have, when you look at the big picture, a ton of money to put toward that position right now.

Eagles unlikely to trade Barkley; Vikings' cap constraints and draft capital limits.

The source reports that running back is the Vikings' top need but advises not to hold breath for Saquon Barkley, Jonathan Taylor, or other top-end running backs. NFL the source Mike Pelissero cited on KFAN's Power Trip Morning Show explained the Vikings' reluctance: the new GM has yet to run a draft and does not want to empty draft capital on a veteran running back; the Vikings lack significant cap space with a half-dozen defensive players waiting to get paid, including Dallas Turner who will command a monster contract; and acquiring elite backs like Barkley (whom Pelissero does not believe the Eagles will move) would require a huge capital swing.
