Yahoo Sports NFL on Josh Downs

Downs requested trade; elite slot skills could fetch Round 3 pick.

Josh Downs has requested a trade and has received interest from multiple AFC teams, including the Steelers. The source notes a deal is not considered likely this week, but the expectation is a trade will eventually happen. At age 25 with elite-level separation and ball skills and the ability to win in the slot consistently, Downs could net the Colts a pick as high as a Round 3 pick. The source compares his trade value to Rasheed Shaheed, a similar-tier player on an expiring deal who was traded mid-season in 2025 for a 2026 4th and 5th round pick.
