Trading Barkley would mean a dead cap charge of approximately $26 million for the Eagles in 2027 – when the recent trades of WR A.J. Brown and OL Cam Jurgens alone are already going to cost Philadelphia $42 million in dead money.

Barkley's $26M dead cap hit in 2027 makes trade unlikely absent godfather offer.

Trading Barkley would mean a dead cap charge of approximately $26 million for the Eagles in 2027, on top of $42 million in dead money already committed from recent trades of WR A.J. Brown and OL Cam Jurgens; adding to that figure, especially given uncertainty surrounding QB Jalen Hurts, may not be pragmatic for EVP/GM Howie Roseman unless he receives an unlikely godfather offer. Barkley is the 2024 Offensive Player of the Year.
