I think Geno has benefitted from a better situation with the Jets more than anything else. Not that the Jets are some model franchise, but the 2025 Raiders seemed to have a bad offensive line and few options in the passing game other than Brock Bowers, who was hobbled by injuries for a good portion of the season.

Geno Smith's 2026 Jets production driven by better weapons than 2025 Raiders.

Geno Smith's improved 2026 performance with the Jets versus his underwhelming 2025 stint with the Raiders is primarily attributable to a better supporting cast; the 2025 Raiders had a bad offensive line and few passing options beyond Brock Bowers, while the 2026 Jets feature an average offensive line with multiple weapons including Garrett Wilson, Omar Cooper Jr., Kenyon Sadiq, and Mason Taylor. MacGregor Wells notes that Geno has been better in 2026 than 2025, but largely due to his improved supporting cast rather than personal development.
