What Aaron likes is he likes to have guys just line up and play football. We're not going to move him around. We're not going to put him in the slot. We're not going to motion him. We just want to line up and go win. DK is not that guy.

Thielen: Metcalf lacks versatility Rodgers demands; scheme mismatch limits upside.

Adam Thielen, who played with Metcalf and Rodgers on the Steelers last season, explained that Rodgers prefers receivers who can line up and win without motion or slot movement, whereas Metcalf requires versatility—motion, stacks, and slot usage—to be effective. Thielen observed on tape that Rodgers is looking for Metcalf but he's not getting open in the current scheme, suggesting a fundamental mismatch between Metcalf's skill set and Rodgers' offensive preferences.
