Pride Of Detroit on Sam LaPorta

LaPorta allowed a sack and struggled as a blocker against Minnesota's blitz despite 3 catches.

TE had a disastrous day as a blocker against the Vikings' blitz-heavy defense, allowing a sack of Goff in the first half. LaPorta was often left guessing where the pressure was coming from against Vikings linebacker Andrew Van Ginkel, who gave the Lions fits with his ability to both rush the passer and drop into coverage. As a receiver, LaPorta had a better outing than the previous week with three catches for 33 yards and a first-down run, but his blocking struggles were a significant liability.
