Yahoo Sports NFL on J.K. Dobbins
From the article
None of Dobbins 7 carries would go for longer than 6-yards and he would finish his night running for just 13-yards, averaging an unacceptable 1.9 yards per carry. His long of 6-yards was only eclipsed by the -8-yards he managed during a backwards run in the 2nd quarter.
STACKED’s take
Dobbins' role diminished after 13 yards on 7 carries vs. Chiefs.
Dobbins' role is in jeopardy after a poor performance against Kansas City. He carried 7 times for just 13 yards (1.9 yards-per-carry average) with zero receptions, including a -8-yard backwards run in the second quarter. The source notes his long of 6 yards was unacceptable and that he "couldn't contain the 'not-it' oozing from his every pore." While the source acknowledges Dobbins is a seasoned veteran and that the tough Kansas City defense played a role, it emphasizes that "there is no putting the toothpaste back in the tube" regarding Coleman's emergence. Dobbins will share backfield duties with Coleman but must find a way to complement the new lead back or risk watching from the sideline.
