Niners Nation on Brandon Aiyuk

Aiyuk seeks reinstatement after Left Squad placement; long-shot odds for 2026 return.

Aiyuk was placed on the Left Squad list in December 2025, which removed him from the 49ers' 53-man roster and paused his contract. To return to the NFL, he must formally apply for reinstatement. He has hired Drew Rosenhaus for representation, and Rosenhaus stated he is 'working on getting him back to work and playing again in the NFL.' However, the source assesses the odds of seeing Aiyuk on a football field again in 2026 as 'close to a long shot,' and notes that after his social media antics with the Washington Commanders, it would be surprising to see him offered anything more than a minimum contract.
