RB Jonathan Taylor is rumored to be available as well, and if he's dealt, rookie Seth McGowan would become the Colts' No. 1 running back. The question is how much fantasy value a lead-back role with the white-flag-waving Colts would yield.

McGowan could become Colts' lead back if Taylor is traded, but limited TD upside in weak offense.

The Colts' seventh-round rookie running back from Kentucky could become the team's No. 1 back if Jonathan Taylor is traded, as the Colts are selling off parts (Quenton Nelson to Seahawks, DeForest Buckner to 49ers). McGowan won a training-camp battle with second-year DJ Giddens to be Taylor's primary backup and has 37-163-0 rushing and 4-12-0 receiving on five targets. He has good size (6-0, 223), is difficult to bring down, and clocked a 4.49 at the combine with a 42.5-inch vertical. However, the source cautions that touch volume with the struggling Colts would be limited by the team's overall offensive ineptitude and his TD potential might be capped even in a lead role. The source recommends against completely blowing out the FAAB budget for this speculative play.
