Another young player to keep an eye on is Makai Lemon. Man, I'm gutted he didn't make this catch. The route is excellent. I've been calling for more vertical shots to Lemon, and he showed some juice here.

Lemon's explosive route running and hand fighting warrant more vertical targets.

The source identifies Makai Lemon as a young player to watch closely, praising his explosive top-of-stem route running and hand usage. Lemon fights through cornerback contact and gets on top of him quickly, creating a legitimate downfield chance. The source wants to see him make tough catches as he develops and notes he looks back for the ball too early, giving the cornerback time to turn and locate the throw—a detail he can learn from. Lemon finished with six catches for 57 yards. The source has been calling for more vertical opportunities for Lemon and sees this route as evidence of why those shots matter.
