once Mike LaFleur's team inserted QB Gardner Minshew, some more unexplainable history against the longtime backup passer... Minshew somehow picked up right where he left off and added three more passing touchdowns against the Cowboys, 188 more yards, was sacked once, but led a game-winning drive in overtime as well.

Minshew's mid-game insertion unlocked Cardinals' offense and led OT win.

Minshew's insertion into the game for Jacoby Brissett neutralized the Cowboys' coverage-first, pass-rush-as-a-result defense that had been working well against Brissett. Minshew went on to throw three passing touchdowns, accumulate 188 more yards than his 2022 performance against Dallas, was sacked once, and led a game-winning drive in overtime. His quick release and the Cardinals' running game unlocked by his presence proved decisive. The source notes this mirrors Minshew's 2022 performance against Dan Quinn's defense when he went 24-40 for 355 yards and two touchdowns with two interceptions in a 40-34 Eagles loss to the Cowboys.
