Yahoo Sports NFL on Antonio Williams
From the article
Williams is the future, so I wonder if we'll see a passing of the torch at some point. For now though, with Burks playing McLaurin's X receiver role, Williams can claim the Z receiver role as his own and he should only become an increasingly larger part of the offense going forward.
STACKED’s take
Williams leads Commanders receivers in snaps and targets after McLaurin injury; projects as future star.
The rookie wide receiver stepped into a larger role following Terry McLaurin's season-ending injury and led the Commanders receivers in Week 8 with 50 snaps (83%), 7 targets, 5 receptions for 54 yards including a 30-yard gain. Williams displayed strong hands, route running, and speed throughout the game, making tough adjustments on passes and leading the team in receiving yards. The source projects he will become an increasingly larger part of the offense and notes he is capable of playing both the Z receiver role (which he currently claims) and the slot role, suggesting he could eventually take over more responsibilities as the future of the position.
