Ford is a free agent option the Commanders could sign to address their running back injury crisis. He joined Washington in free agency this offseason but was waived due to injuries after falling behind Quinshon Judkins and Dylan Sampson with the Cleveland Browns. He was subsequently signed to the Minnesota Vikings' practice squad, then released, and is currently on the Arizona Cardinals' practice squad. He is reportedly healthy now. Ford knows David Blough's scheme and the locker room culture, making the transition smooth, and may be on the Commanders' shortlist given their immediate need for help.
