It appears that head coach Klint Kubiak has finally seen enough and recognizes the need for a change at running back. Ashton Jeanty was not his draft pick, and after six out of seven weeks of a lacking running game, he was ready to see something different. Jeanty will continue to have a big role in the running game moving forward despite having only two rushing attempts.

Jeanty benched after 6 of 7 poor weeks; limited to 2 carries but retains pass-catching role

Head coach Klint Kubiak benched Jeanty after six of seven weeks of poor running game performance. Jeanty was limited to only two rushing attempts in this game as the team switched to a committee approach. However, Jeanty will continue to have a role in the running game moving forward due to his well-rounded skill set and superior pass-catching ability out of the backfield, which produces better receiving numbers than some marquee wide receiver #1s.
