STACKED’s take
Aiyuk's conduct issues and organizational rift make his 49ers future extremely unlikely.
Aiyuk has remained on the reserve/left squad list this season after initially being placed on that designation last December when he stopped showing up at the facility. The 49ers voided approximately $27 million in guaranteed money on his contract in July after he failed to attend required rehab sessions and team check-ins in the offseason. He did not report to training camp in July, leading to the reserve/did not report designation before being given the 'left squad' status to start the season. The source indicates the apparent breakdown between Aiyuk and the 49ers organization makes him staying on the team 'extremely unlikely,' and the 49ers may prefer to release him rather than deal with the 'sideshow' of reintegration despite his talent.
