Yahoo Sports NFL on Malik Willis

Willis' 3.05-second average time to throw is third-longest in NFL; taken 21 sacks.

Willis holds onto the ball way too long in the pocket, averaging 3.05 seconds to throw—third-longest in the league. The source notes it's unclear whether Willis is taking too long to progress through reads, is hesitant to trust his eyes, or if his young receiving corps isn't getting open, but this extended pocket time presents an opportunity for the Lions' pass rush. Willis has taken 21 sacks (seventh-most in the NFL) and the Dolphins have the second-highest sack rate in the league at 10.3%; the Patriots got to Willis five times in the first half.
