I'm not sure if it's going to be Watson or Matthew Golden, but I lean Watson just based on the potential for the Patriots to want Gonzo to better match his size.

Watson likely shadows Gonzalez despite Golden's superior separation metrics.

Expected to draw shadow assignment from Patriots CB Christian Gonzalez in Week 9; source leans Watson over Matthew Golden based on size matching, though Golden holds significant advantages in separation score (+0.178 vs. -0.22), yards per route run (3.27 vs. 0.51), and targets per route run (0.4 vs. 0.18). Patriots run man coverage at a top-3 rate.
