A.J. Brown's $26M dead cap charge makes a near-term Patriots exit unlikely.

Despite current injury concerns and availability issues, the Patriots are not expected to move on from Brown in the near future; his contract structure would prevent such a move, as releasing him next offseason would result in a dead cap charge of almost $26 million. One line of thinking is that he might be kept out through the team's trip to Germany next week and into the Week 11 bye to get fully ready for the stretch run.
