Yahoo Sports NFL on Baker Mayfield

Mayfield's passing efficiency will determine if Bucs can stay competitive.

The source identifies Baker Mayfield's passing ability as a key variable in the Bucs' offensive success against Chicago. Sam notes the Bucs played in a monsoon and didn't need to complete passes, and took advantage of Carolina's run defense, suggesting they may lean on the ground game. However, Sam also states "if the Bucs can shut down the Bears' average-looking run game and Mayfield can actually complete passes, then it will be a close one." Josh recommends Dennis Allen "keep mixing it up to unsettle Baker Mayfield," indicating the Bears' defensive strategy will target Mayfield's decision-making.
